De Niro and Scorsese May "Paint Houses"

According to an article in Variety, Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro may re-team for their first film together in over a decade.

Screenwiter Steven Zallian (Schindler's List, Gangs of New York, American Gangster) is adapting the book I Heard You Paint Houses by Charles Brant. The book tells the true life story of Frank "the Irishman" Sheeran, who is reputed to have carried out more than 25 mob murders, supposedly including Jimmy Hoffa's.

De Niro would play Sheeran and Scorsese is rumoured to direct. This film would be their ninth collaboration, following Mean Streets, Taxi Driver, New York, New York, Raging Bull, The King of Comedy, Goodfellas, Cape Fear, and Casino.

If this gets pulled together properly, I'm so jazzed. Not only does this mean one of the best collaborations in film would get one more shot, but it also means we all might be spared Meet the Little Fockers or Meet the Doggie Fockers or whatever piece of shit comedy De Niro wants to do next.
